Friendly Fires are a English electronic post-punk band based in St.Albans. Influenced by 80’s and 90’s Dance & Electronic music, as well as the stylings of post-hardcore bands such as My Bloody Valentine (i know…strange combination…explanation: they were all previously in a post-hardcore band before Friendly Fires)
They are going to be at Radio 1’s Big Weekend as well as Reading and Leeds festival this year.

Canada is doing well at the moment, another up and coming star is electro-pop maker Lights. This 20’something from Toronto is currently propelling herself into stardom with her synths that make her sound like a female version of Owl City and her quirky personality which is delighting fans through video blogs on myspace and youtube. She has just won a Juno (like our BRIT Awards i believe – just Canadian) award for ‘New Artist Of The Year’
Check her out on myspace at www.myspace.com/lightsnoise
Oh and yes, she is beautiful.

Meursault is an odd band, I’ve found one track by them that it absolutely cracking however the rest of their music seems so far away from this that you would be surprised they were even by the same artist.I can only find out a little about this band, that they’ve recently released an album, they’re based in Scotland and if they make a few more tracks like “A Few Kind Words” they’ll be on to a winner.

Yes i know the picture is a bit odd, its all to do with their ‘Style’ im led to belive, you know, like the music style etc. Anyway, on with the post.
Empire Of The Sun are a Australian based Electro-Acoustic/just plain Electro project between Luke Steele of ‘The Sleepy Jackson’ and Nick Littlemore of ‘Pnau’ . I personally love the sound of this band, mixing in (mainly) acoustic guitars and the electronic synths, it works wonders. Sounding just a bit like MGMT, This bands rise to fame is deserved for sure.
Walking On A Dream – Empire Of The Sun
We Are The People – Empire Of The Sun
Enjoy.
