FrYars is a one man band by Ben Garrett (piano, drums, computer, accordion drone, synths, bells, vocals). From London and only 18 Garrett is yet another that attends a school in north London that was also attended by the likes of Cajun Dance Party and Bombay Bicycle Club.

Personally I like the crispness and audibility of the vocals, as the Guardian put it “Garrett has an old-fashioned clarity like some Shakespearean actor or BBC news presenter”, the music relatively upbeat yet the actual lyrics are quite contrasting and make a strange combination. Although I don’t feel FrYars will ever be massive he will still gain some popularity.
