Empire Of The Sun are a Australian based Electro-Acoustic/just plain Electro project between Luke Steele of ‘The Sleepy Jackson’ and Nick Littlemore of ‘Pnau’ . I personally love the sound of this band, mixing in (mainly) acoustic guitars and the electronic synths, it works wonders. Sounding just a bit like MGMT, This bands rise to fame is deserved for sure.

Cagedbaby seemed to go quite over the last couple of years but now they should be back with a bang with a new album set to be released under “Southern Fried Records” Fatboy Slims record company, they are Brighton based and making tracks that are irristably catchy and very danceable the last.fm description reads “ electro-pop, subtle techno rhythms, laidback party music and snippets of 80s power chords, make it irresistible to all who stumble upon it.”

Swimming With Dolphins was formed in early 2008 by Adam Young and his friend Austin Tofte. bringing together electronica and powerpop, they form songs that will stick in your mind for days. They released their E.P ‘Ambient Blue’ in 2008 and are currently touring the US, including Bamboozle.

This band is definatly not going to be falling in the sea and swimming, they are going nowhere but up.

Adam Young, also known as Owl City, also runs two other musical projects, Port Blue, and Swimming with Dolphins, which i will write about later on. But Firstly, Owl City.

Owl City is a electronic pop musical project from Minnesota, America. With quirky lyrics and light synths and strings with complicated fast-paced beats, Owl City has reached  success relatively quickly. Formed in early 2007, Mr.Young has reached the top of the myspace unsigned charts, gathered over 10 million plays and  released two albums called ‘Of June’ and ‘Maybe I’m Dreaming’.

Having recently signed to Universal, expected big things from this guy.

Open Happiness is a collaboration written and produced by Butch Walker with Cee-lo Green (Gnarls Barkley), remixed by Polow Da Don and performed by Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Brendon Urie (Panic at the Disco), Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes), Cee-Lo Green and Janelle Monae that gave these artists the unique chance to come together and create a song to uplift and inspire.

Its a supergroup, belive the hype that will soon appear.

It is going to be used in Coca-Cola’s big new advertising campaign, about being Happy and im guessing, about how good Coke is.

i know its nothing to do with Indie, Or Electro, i just found i’d put it in before it gets bigger, you all get a nice listen to it. Daymn catchy.

Frankmusik

Who is Frankmusik? Well, he is a singer-songwriter, producer, remixer, self taught multi-instrumentalist, graphic designer, photographer, and video director called Vincent Frank from the south-east of England.

So an all round Whizz-kid then.

He’s already been picked up by critics as a potential star, having been placed on the “BBC Sound Of 2009” list, along with Lady GaGa, White Lies and Dan Black.

With his debut album coming out in the summer, and two singles and a EP already under his belt, Frank is slowly re-inventing pop in his upbeat 80′s styled electronic bleep infested way.
